i've been tagged!

Oh, I just love these little "tagging" games! I did one a a while back, but this one's a little different. My blogging friend, Kristi, who I really hope to meet IRL (in real life) some day, has asked that I list 6 random things about myself, so here goes...
  1. I really hope to run a marathon (or at least a half marathon!) by the time I'm 30 years old. I've been in "training mode" since I was engaged. Between planning a wedding, going to school full time and working full time, I wasn't able to run the marathon I had signed up for at age 21. Since then, I've been busy having child after child, but now that I'm finished with that, I hope to start training in the near future.
  2. My sister and I auditioned for the Amazing Race a couple years ago. We didn't make it past the first round. I did horrible in front of the camera. That's sooooo not my thing. They gave us 60 seconds to tell them why we felt we should be the next Amazing Race contestants, and even with having a rehearsed "script," I totally biffed it. Sorry, Jen.
  3. I am spearheading a MOPS group at my church, starting this fall. I go to a smaller church and they've never had a MOPS, nor do they really have a women's ministry established. I'm very excited, though I'm nervous and a little intimidated, but I know God with pull me through.
  4. My cousin and I were driving back to our college dorm one night and we happened to be following a Schwan's truck down the highway. We both noticed a box, or something, fly out of the truck. Being the ice cream addicts and curious little buggers we were, we stopped the car, did a u-turn, and went back to where we thought the box landed. Sure enough, sitting in the ditch, we found a unopened box of Mint Drumsticks. Yummy! Our favorite! By all accounts, they seemed perfectly fine to eat. So, we did. Right then and there. I'm assuming them falling out of the truck was God's way of rewarding us for something good we did that day! Or were they thrown from the truck? We never got sick, so I guess we'll never know.
  5. I was a wrestling manager for 4 years in high school. I loved wrestling. Still do, actually.
  6. Why am I having a hard time coming up with the 6th thing?!?! My first car was a two-door, maroon Dodge Airies. It had purple tinted windows and required an oil refill almost every day. It was awesome.
That's it for now...until my next "tagging" game! Now I tag my friends Erica & Nealy!

That WAS fun to read!!! :-) I too have always wanted to train for a marathon (or at least a 1/2).

But, here I am, at 30, and I still haven't run one! I don't know if my knees could take it...and finding the time to do it... Keep me posted on if/when you start!! Maybe we could meet IRL someday and run a marathon (or 1/2) together!! :-)

AND...wow...that is super exciting to hear about the MOPS group that you are starting at your church. You will have to keep us posted on that! MOPS really is such a neat ministry and a big part of my life (I was on the steering team for our church's group for 5 years). That is so great, Amanda!

Thanks for sharing...it was so fun to read these "fun facts" about you!

Hi there...you don't know me, but my friend Kristi was mentioning how fun it has been to read your blog, so I wanted to check it out! :-) My middle daughter is named Chloe...and I just have to tell you, I TOTALLY laughed out loud at your Schwan's story - that was HILARIOUS! So was your other post about the online shopping/broccoli fiasco - that was TOO funny. Did you end up freezing any of it?
