Pulling into Ella's preschool parking lot, still not fully awake and a little cranky, I almost hit another mini-van mom who was pulling out of her parking spot. I hit the brakes and fortunately missed her, but was way too close for comfort.
Ella: "Mommy, what did you do? Why did you almost hit that other car?"
Me: "Oh, I don't know, honey." (The typical response you give your child when you're too tired to answer)
Ella: "Did you forget to look both ways?"
Me: "Yeah, I guess I did."
Ella: "Were you only looking straight ahead?"
Me: "Yeah, I guess I was."
Ella: "You need to pay more attention."
Me: "You know what, honey? You're right. Thank you."

AT least seh's being observant.
Sounds like my middle school drivers ed teacher.
Sounds just like another little preschooler I know. Those firstborns, they keep tabs on everything.
Yes, my firstborn also likes to be a "back seat driver"!!! :-)
As I was approaching a yellow light the other day and was in a hurry, I sped up to get through when I heard from the back of the van, "Mom, aren't you supposed to slow down when the light turns yellow?"
BUSTED!! :-)
Ha! I love it!
